A practical customs paperwork checklist
Delays at the border are rarely caused by the goods themselves. Most of the time the problem is a missing or inconsistent document.
Before dispatch, confirm that the commercial invoice, packing list and transport document all show the same consignee, quantities and weights. Check that the commodity codes are correct and that any required certificates of origin are attached.
Share digital copies with your forwarder at least a day before loading, so that declarations can be prepared in advance.
